Lucknow: A major case of fraud and extortion has come to light involving Prateek Yadav, son of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and brother of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Prateek, who is also the husband of BJP leader and State Women’s Commission Vice-President Aparna Yadav, has filed a formal complaint at Gautampalli police station alleging that he was defrauded of crores and later threatened with ₹4 crore extortion.
According to the complaint, Krishna Nand Pandey, a resident of Chinhat and owner of Monal Infra Pvt Ltd, lured Prateek into investing in real estate projects with promises of high returns. Pandey allegedly formed close ties with Prateek over the years, even appointing him as the promoter of his company. Through this setup, Pandey and his associates reportedly took large sums from Prateek under the pretext of land purchases and property development near Shaheed Path.
The FIR states that when Prateek demanded a financial audit and account details, Pandey and his wife Vandana threatened to implicate him in a false POCSO case and also blackmailed him using a doctored audio clip. Prateek further claimed that Pandey, along with his father Ashok Pandey and others, repeatedly harassed him through late-night calls, demanding ₹4 crore in extortion.

The Gautampalli police have registered the case and initiated a probe. Inspector Pankaj Singh Ambashth confirmed that a formal investigation is underway.
